Furigana Reader Extension is designed with privacy as a core principle:

The Extension includes a built-in Japanese dictionary powered by JMdict (a free Japanese-multilingual dictionary project):
The Extension includes a built-in PDF reader powered by PDF.js (Mozilla’s open-source PDF rendering library):
